Rihanna, Chris Brown Interviews to Air on Same Day - The Boombox
This is the third time that Brown has publicly addressed the incident. He sat down with Larry King in September, New York radio DJ Angie Martinez in October and MTV this week. Brown will open up about why he posted fan-made video montages of the two on his Twitter page; why his new music sounds like a dedication to Rihanna, plus details of the altercation. "My thoughts [when I look back on it now] is like, 'Why did it happen?" he said in the interview. "Like, 'What was I thinking? What is wrong with you?' That's what I'm thinking with myself. That's what my thoughts are, basically, now."
"It's like, 'How do we get past it? How do you, Chris' -- talking to myself -- 'how do you go from point A to point B? How do you learn from your mistakes, turn it into a positive and help other people with the situation, and at the end of the day become the person that you want to be?"
Rihanna, who has taken a much quieter approach to the ordeal, also stated that she hopes telling her story will help others. "The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that," she said in the November issue of Glamour Magazine. "I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn't heard. Now I can help speak for those women."
Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna following a pre-Grammy party back in February. He received five years probation, 180-days of community labor, must complete a domestic violence course, and is not to have contact with Rihanna. His latest interview comes just in time as his 'Graffiti' album release date has been pushed up from Dec. 15 to Dec. 8. 'Chris Brown: The Interview' airs Friday, Nov. 6 at 6PM on MTV.
