So Shar, Kevin and Britney are all one big happy family with 6 kids. Are the kids #1 priority? They need to be. In the midst of the child custody battle, and drug tests and court orders, I hope the kids are top priority.
Embroiled in an ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Britney Spears, Kevin Federline nevertheless is trying to see that all four of his offspring get along, thanks to a helping hand from former girlfriend Shar Jackson.
Jackson, 31, has two children – Kori, 5, and Kaleb, 3 – with Federline, 29, and says that she watches Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, who are Federline's kids with Spears, 25.
Wow, talk about a lot of kids. Shar Jackson has an additional 2 children from a previous relationship. So she has four children, two with Kevin. Now Kevin Federline also has four kids, two with Britney. Between Shar and Kevin, we don't have to worry, ever, about the population of the world going down. I can hold from having kids now since they're doing it for me. I mean sheesh. As long as the kids are well-taken care of and loved. That's what's important.
"We definitely make sure the kids all bond together," Jackson told reporters Tuesday night at EA's Launch For The Need For Speed Game in L.A. "I mean, they're siblings, they need each other."
Jackson also stresses that she and Federline strive to keep their family closely knit, despite whatever differences she and he might have.
"We're not together or anything but we're definitely still a family unit," says Jackson, who perhaps remains best known professionally for her portrayal of Niecy on the 1996-2001 UPN show Moesha.
I loved Niecy's character on Moesha. That's one of my favorite shows. I need to get that on DVD from Netflix or something. That's a classic show, though some may disagree with me.
Now Shar is probably not going to have any more children. She just had a tummy tuck not too long ago and I doubt she'll throw that money away to push out another kid, although if she did, I'm sure K-Fed can give her some money from his Britney fund. I mean Britney spends over $700 thousand a month. Imagine what her child support payments would be if Federline gets full custody. Shar can have a tummy tuck whenever she'd like.
"Honestly," says Jackson, "we're like the best of friends. Obviously, the relationship didn't work out for a reason, and we're cool with that. But we're still a part of each other's lives. And our children get to see two people who aren't together but still have a great relationship, and I think that's really important."
Jackson, who in the past has repeatedly praised Federline's parenting skills, says she exclusively trusts him with her kids. "I know he's in a good place," she says, "the kids are in a good place, and I made sure from day one – I told him, 'You make sure you have our children.' "
And just how is K-Fed holding up in the fight with Britney over their kids? "He's great," says Jackson. "We don't even talk about that stuff, because that would be a non-stop conversation, and we don't even go there."
Well Shar babysits Britney's kid so you know what? She deserves a piece of the pie. Why not? Britney can party all she wants because Shar is watching the babies.
